Prone T-Raise. This is one of the best exercises to do if you want to improve your posture...trust me, I personally am an example of how this exercise helped! Take light weights, even no weights if you are starting out and make a T shape with your arms. You can lie on an incline bench (I find this more comfortable) or lie on the ground face down. You work your #rhomboids, #lowertraps #midtraps, and #reardeltoids. These are all muscles most of us do not spend enough time but they are crucial in helping to prevent neck pain, shoulder pain, bad posture, and more! Strengthening our shoulders and upper posterior chain is important for us triathletes who spend a lot of our time in forward posture, swimming, aero position on the bike (or road riding) then we expect our bodies to stand tall to run after swimming and cycling. Strengthening our upper rear chain muscles will help balance our body to maintain our swim, hold strong position on the bike and keep us relaxed on the run. Here’s a snippet of one of my workouts💪🏼 Use light weights for these exercises 3 x sets of 10-15 reps 1) Internal/ External Rotators at 90’ 2)External at neutral - elbows touch sides the whole time 3) Cable: Straight arm pull down, activate your Lat before pulling down 4) Rear deltoid fly - controlled Nice set to include in your next strength workout. WOTD: Reverse Flys ________________________ Hey guys coming here again with another new workout some of you may or may not know. Reverse flys! Reverse flys are are great rear deltoid & upper back workout. So for those trying to chisel your upper back and shoulders this is the way to go! Light weights are very appropriate. ________________________ 1)Start off sitting on a platform, preferably a bench or chair. Starting out, have your body in a seated and bent over position. 2)Grab your desired weight/dumbbell of choice. Make sure arms are slightly bents. You can have a neutral grip(typical) or a pronated grip(seen in video). 3)Start the actual movement by raising your ups up high to about shoulder level. Make sure you squeeze your shoulder blades together as you reach the peak of your rep, and slowly lower the weight back down. Repeat. ________________________ Tips: do not forget to breath through your exercise, it helps you endure the reps and sets you take your body through. Even though you are bent over to perform this exercise refrain from over arching or rounding your back.
