Hip Flexor Strain Rehab ——- Hip flexors are fairly common in field sports with all the stopping and change of direction. Additionally, playing on wet surfaces can lead to slipping and straining the hip flexor. I’ve stated this before, but simply put, when addressing a muscle strain, the priorities are decrease the pain, gradually reintroduce load and monitor stress levels. Suffering a set back when dealing with a muscle strain can happen as people tend to “feel” good and go back to full activity when the muscle isn’t ready for that demand. ——- This cable resisted hip flexor exercise is more advanced because of the hip flexor being on stretch with resistance. Im slowly working my way back up with my lifts. My max I’ve pulled recently is 142.5kg. This is my last set of [email protected] which I did 6 of as part of my vertical jump program I’m currently working on. Deadlifts are an essential exercise for overall strength! Mainly targeting your -Lower back -Glutes -Hammys To perform traditional deadlifts- Stand hip width with legs against the bar. First, hip hinge over, THEN bend the knees and grab the bar on the outside of your shins. You shouldn’t be squatting for this move. SQUEEZE your butt and hammy’s and push through your heels to lift the bar. On the way down, repeat what you did to pick up the bar. Hip hinge over, with chest up and back flexed, roll the bar down your thighs. When the bar reaches your knees, then you can bend the knees to put the bar down. Make sure you keep your core tight and chest up to prevent back rounding! I now do them for both sides to keep both ankles strong. I also am going to make the cable squats harder by standing on a bosu ball. For the record, it worked. With a Bulgarian Spilt Squat, a common mistake made is allowing your knee to wobble side to side or just simply cave inwards as you go deeper into the squat. Out...! 🤔 One common reason for this is weakness or poor activation and control of the hip abductors and external rotators.
